The monitor is built for esports titles, with a 24.5-inch 1080p IPS panel set to 360Hz refresh rate by default. As mentioned above, you can overclock it to 380Hz. In addition, the gaming monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium to address image tearing issues and Adaptive Sync variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. ASUS has also incorporated its unique ‘ELMB-sync’ feature, a backlight reduction mode designed to reduce motion blur while working with VRR.
Moreover, the ROG Strix XG259QN boasts impressive specifications such as a rapid 1 ms response time (gray-to-gray), VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, and a native resolution of 1080p. ASUS has equipped the monitor with DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ports to cater to different connectivity needs, capable of supporting smooth 144 Hz gaming at 1080p. Regarding additional ports, the monitor offers two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack, although it does not include built-in speakers or Type-C connectivity.
